Some numbers and facts regarding my recent trip across America and Canada on a Walmart bike.
My journey across America and Canada by Walmart bike was just like Sir Alan Watts said. I really didn't think I'd make it but I had fun and I did. Just like anything, get yourself out there and a lot of miracles can and will happen.

Total distance traveled - 5, 465 km. L.A. Southgate Walmart to T.O. (Toronto).
Total days: 30. Days off: 0
Shortest day traveled: 66 mi. Longest day: 185 mi.
Fastest speed reached: 47 mph (In Oklahoma, coming into Rolla).
Total cost of food / liquids. $1,400 USD.
Number of souvenirs bought: 1 Route 66 baseball cap at the mid-point. Adrian, Texas.
Number of times I suffered some hypothermia and uncontrollable shaking, shivering: 3

Hotels: 27 days. (It was cold, wet most days, especially after I turned NE in Oklahoma City.
Estimated number of fig newtons consumed - 760.
Estimated number of coffees consumed. Too many to count. Probably 12+ a day.
Number of passports waterdamaged: 1
Roadkill (most frequent to least): possums, skunks, racoons, armadillos, fox, deer, wolves, eagles, cats, dogs.
Times I ate microwaved Mac n Cheese with Buffalo Chicken. 20
Times I stopped at Dollar General’s across America. approx. 72.
Police officers, law enforcement encounters. 5x (all positive, welfare checking/helping).

Number of flats: 3. Broken spokes: 1
Number of mechanics visited: 4. Kingman AZ. Springfield, Missouri. Bourbon, Missouri. Milton, Ontario. (Will write a post about them!).
Physical problems: 0 (totally pain free but did take tylenol once of twice during most days).
Price (before tax) for the bike. $249.95 USD.
Most dangerous cities I traveled through. St. Louis. Albequerque.
City I wish I had had more time to explore: Valparaiso, Indiana.
Coldest city: Flagstaff, Arizona. -8.
Warmest city: Amarillo, Texas. 107 F. 41 Celcius.
Windiest place. 100 miles south of Chicago. Dwight. North wind in my face. 43mph.

This recent 30 day endurance travel adventure of yours is nothing less than amazing. It sounds like it was a trip most people could only dream of attempting to do. Enjoy some well earned R&R.
