Totally agree with you. Now I know it's necessary that one enjoys life beside other things he does (studying, working, and so on).

David I enjoy your walk through time. It filled in some of the blanks in your early schooling.

Kerns sent some wonderful students to NLSS.

Yes. We were a farm team for the big leagues. But I still credit my grandfather’s stack of 100s of Nat. Geo magazines as the base of my schooling those early years.

You've got a good memory for details, David. I can now write a few lines about my pre-university years:

I was a "goody-two-shoes"

During my school years

Once some of my classmates and I

Went to an empty class in our school in the evening

They were making strange noises

And I warned them repeatedly to stop doing so

But it didn't work

Finally I heard sb was near that class we were in

THAT made them stop, just for a short time

But after that, they restarted

During my middle school

My motto was: Study, study, study

You can live life later, you still have a lot of time

I repeated that Motto into my highschool years as well

What an idiot I was

(Now after all these years I understand what an idiot I was at that time)

As I always say, "Our lives teach us who we are" - at least you got out of those pair of karma socks and realized things. Nothing's a waste unless you don't learn from it. We need to enjoy, let loose - esp. in childhood, play, creativity, self identity through experiences is born there.

You have a great memory for details. I do not believe I can remember any of my teachers’ names from public school, though I do remember the Lord’s Prayer, the Bible reading, and the national anthem to start the day. Well done.

Yeah, a lot of theatrics back then, for sure. It's weird but 20 years ago, I wouldn't have remembered any names. But now, getting older, the childhood days seem to brighten in my memory and the middle part of life's sandwich dulls. I've heard others say this ... got to ponder why this is so or maybe not! I was driving by the school daily to visit my aging mom, for about 2 weeks and thus, out pooped this one.
