Ok. Just the normal weekend. Dozens of poems in my notebooks. Dozens not written down. I’m trying to not let the heat, humidity win. Thought I’d share this one …
It’s Just The Normal Noises In Here
When you laugh
REALLY laugh, right from the belly.
When you throw a punch
REALLY throw a punch, right on the kisser.
When you eat
REALLY eat, loudly and like it’s your last.
When you make love
REALLY get into it, like you’ve lost yourself.
When you make friends
REALLY make friends, toss the posers.
When you are alone
REALLY be alone, like you own everything.
When you sing
REALLY sing, like you want someone to hear.
When you suffer
REALLY suffer, like a mother rejected.
When you dance
REALLY dance, like the music is your own.
When you drink
REALLY drink, like you’re a Seagram’s heir.
When you sleep
REALLY sleep, like this world no longer exists.
When you die
REALLY die, don’t come back.
Just keep going.
REALLY.
We don’t need any more of your theatrics.
