Stay on the "gold" coast. It's beautiful. Spent some time there. Further north the better, away from El Tunco (too many city weekenders, stupid gringos) But it's really hot, more tropical than you'd think. However, Conception de Ataco is a real gem of a volcano town, not busy and quaint. Sleepy. Worth a look, town that time forgot, I call it.
I'm seriously considering El Salvador! Who knows?

The new president is making it look much more promising. They even use Bitcoin in trade. I like that attitude!
