In Ontario, it is the abandoned schools that infuriate me. Beautiful temples to spread knowledge, scorned by bureaucrats only to be decommisioned and sold to Christian groups that take the hollow skeletons and build non-inclusive private schools. Mennonites build one room school houses, teach their children several languages and farm without the loans and machinery that bankrupt their modern peers. Any disaster that strikes, and they are one of the first groups on site helping people. Western society is suffering from an under population problem fueled by over consumption. Most households produce more plastic waste than value. We bag our leaves, and cut our lawns and buy our garden mulch in plastic bags. We have replaced horses with 3 horse power lawn mowers and even more powerful snow blowers. We could build greenhouses instead of sucking back thousands of calories in soft drinks, but you won't find vegetabled snd fruit trees growing at our schools if you are lucky enough to find one within walking distance. You will find a soft drink machine and recycling bins and a sanitized library full of pablum.
