It's been less than a month that i've been reading the book "Homo Deus" by Yuval Noah Harari and the more i read it, and listen to snippets of his numerous interviews with various people, i'm becoming more convinced that we humans are really smart in terms of generating ideas for our future, and unfortunately have very high levels of hubris thinking that we're above nature.
As a granddaughter of farmers and gardeners, i have a deep connection to nature and one of my dreams is to have a cabin in the woods where i can spend my weekends and have friends around.
Keep that thought inside you, in your subconscious. I've found with all the good things in my life, they've come about by my own endurance, keeping an aim or desire there deep in me. If you can do it, it will work itself into happening, that cabin in the woods. As for Harari. When I first dove into his work/writing/talks I was quite enamored. But the more I listened, I felt swindled. He has a smart mind but it is alas filled with much conjecture, magic tricks and turns of phrases. It's like he's not grounded at all, no beliefs but the constant surface image he keeps conjuring up. That hubris you mention is there too ... Man at the top, pinnacle and everything else answering to it. Rubbish!
Thanks for your reply. If i wanna enjoy moving toward achieving one of my goals, all i need to do is to let it become a part of my day, to the point that i can't imagine not doing this for whatever reason. As for Harari, i'm still in the enamoration level. In my opinion, we humans have really become addicted to our phones to the point that if sth happens to our phones, it's as if we're suffocating (i've fallen in the habit of not being near my phone at nights. Usually between 30-60 minutes before my bedtime, i try to put my phone far from my room as possible. And the next morning, i pick my phone to turn on its WiFi and check my notifications 30+ minutes after eating my breakfast. Thank you Mel Robbins for introducing this!😉🙏). And finally, nature is the best de-addiction camp.
