I'm a Muslim but i don't believe praying to Allah will make my life better, only i can do it. In LinkedIn, i'm always trying to present myself as authentically as possible and i'm against any type of misjudgement and mistreatment.
I think that is the right approach. Any god would want us free. Also that we are all judged on our merit, not on labels or groups we belong too. But what I was trying to get at is the tension between religions, culture, society and the individual. We do censor ourselves a lot for the sake of the community - It isn't always good. There are times it is a bad thing.
I agree there's a lot of tension between religions, culture and the individual. One thing i'm always worried about is to be judged based on my nationality (Iranian) and not my merit.
Thanks for your poem, David.
