Day 25. Indiana Wants Me.

Route 66 done n dusted. Now going east.

Life happens when you're making other plans. I got to Indiana today. It was a glorious accident. I'm glad it happened some beautiful riding, 130 miles and I still feel fresh.

The day started cold 30°. That's Fahrenheit. It didn't get much warmer until noon. I headed north into a cold North wind.

Though I was cold I enjoyed the small towns I rolled through. Many at the entrance have signs like this.

Finally I was too cold and I'd had enough. I reached the town of Dwight and said goodbye to route 66. I went east on highway 17 out of the wind. What a great choice, I started to fly.

I went through many beautiful towns like Kankakee. Probably the town with the most churches in the world. Many of the towns had beautiful rivers.

Momence was great. I stopped for a much-needed coffee and headed north on highway 2. I continue to zoom past many silos and many towns with the big water tanks. What do you call those things?

I love the town of Lowell not Lowell Massachusetts though.

In Indiana I started to find some hills. A much welcome change from the flat of Illinois. Hebron hills.

Finally as the sun was setting I arrived at my destination Valparaiso. No not the city of Chile but a really beautiful one nonetheless. I will explore this place in the morning.

Once it warmed up and I was out of the wind this was a gorgeous day. Gorgeous countryside. Let's see what tomorrow brings? It's supposed to rain but the wind is from the south so I'll probably head north. I'm making up the whole route as I go just pointing my bike in the general direction. The plan is to hit Detroit somehow and then make it to Toronto to finish the journey. You can do a lot if you just do a little everyday. That's been my motto for this journey. Thank you for joining me on it.
