Not sure but might be possible. Keep fighting, adjust, tack like a ship. I believe there are actually no beautiful people, it is not a noun but a verb. Beautiful people are those busy being beautiful ... Like the Dylan line, he not busy being born is a busy dying!
Absolutely phenomenal what you've done on this long ride. Emil Salazar said: Poor people know how to suffer. I've used this quote often in my life, though I am not poor, only relative to the big shots. I remember well the story I wrote about you, how you related your suffering as a youth, and how it taught you to be tough. I use that when I struggle. I'm struggling now. Bravo, David, and thank you.
I am going to steal that quote! Just talked to my dear mom n she said much the same as you. Stay tough, you got resources, will, spirit inside you that you wouldn't believe, you just have to surrender to it. Be suffering and the door will open. Lots not good about my childhood but the trick is to take suffering n turn it towards the light, fire it into good.
If you are still in Ontario when I get back, it would be great to meet up with you again. I'm in some trouble now, and Emil's words can't do it for me. Like you, I'm a fighter. I LOVE fighting, actually, and usually I come out on top. Ha, ha. I am not suffering the BIG C....not cancer, just a debilitating left hip ailment. I only have three weeks left here in Fl, before I drive back to Toronto, and I have x-rays booked for May 8, so I'll suffer on. Thinking of you cycling in snow and sleet and freezing cold....I can do this easily!!!! ha, ha. Anyway, if you are around, we can tip a pint or two back and share war stories.....we'll have to arm wrestle for talking turns, though. Toronto number is 416-762-3571. I expect to be in the big smoke on May 3. Hug your mom from me. She raised a beautiful son.
Lol, I have almost hit two deer on my motorcycle in Jeju. The last I could almost have spanked reaching over the handlebars. I think they believe anything running as fast as them should be as agile.I now think of the deer scene from the Straight Story whenever I ride between sunrise and sunset. They are coming for me and I need to be ready.
